Hola. This is my attempt at celebrating the positive Latino presence in Hayward, as well as its contributions to our sphere of influence. The Latino has been in this area since the mid 1500's and has had an important role in the development, history, language, religion, and culture. I will deal with food, drink, history, culture. I will search every corner of this area for a Latino presence worth noting. I will highlight our Latino businesses and mention the many individuals who make up more than a third of the Hayward population. My intent is to demarginalize, to empower, to help make successful our Latino businesses, especially the small businesses, the backbone of any community. These businesses are a key, integral part of our Hayward economy.
