STATEMENT of PURPOSE
The purpose of the Hayward San Felipe Sister City Committee is twofold:
There is a desire on the part of the committee members to improve the lives of the many destitute people in San Felipe. It can be thought of as a charitable gift to people who are less fortunate.
The second purpose is to enrich our own lives by living with and understanding another country's culture. This leads us to respect for the rights and views of the people different from ourselves (or, as we discover, people who are not so different).
Participation in a sister city organization such as ours fosters greater international understanding and harmony. We cordially invite you to join us.
